Experience Optimization – Page Test

Page tests are different from content tests : Page test is to test complete page with against another page. The pages in the test can be different versions of the same page, or they can be completely different pages.

Please note for Page level testing:

  1. Page level tests can only be implemented for the pages built using the same template.
  2. It is possible to test one page against multiple pages

Steps to do Page Testing:

Step 1: Open the Sitecore Launch Pad, click Experience Optimization and then click on Create Page Test as show in below screenshots:

Step 2:  Select the original page to test. You can navigate to a page, or you can search for it as shown in below:

Select Orignial page

Select the pages to test against the original selected page

Now, you will see both selected pages displayed with preview.

Step 3: Go to Review and Start Tab. After selecting the pages for testing, Sitecore displays the information about the test also you can adjust a number of parameters for the test. Sitecore displays previews of the pages that you have selected, with one variation selected and the other variations in the carousel under the selected variation

Percentage of visitors exposed to test: Specify the percentage of visitors that you want exposed to the test.

Test objective:  You select either one of the goals specified in the Marketing Control Panel or select Trailing Value/Visit (the total engagement value per visit – but only counting page views occurring after the visitors encountered the page being tested).

When the test has found a winner, you can view the test results in Reports. You can see the test summary as well as:

  • An overview that shows the best page effect, the statistical confidence level, and the score gained.
  • The conversion rate based on the goal that you select.
